What is a Will?  A will is a legal document that outlines how your estate (everything you own) will be dealt with after you pass. It can also include roles and responsibilities for people selected by you to act in the event of your passing or inability to act for yourself.

Who can use this Will? If you are a personal entity and wish to identify who you will leave your property to then this is the online will builder for you. If you have a family trust or own a business then you will need to contact us to organise your Will.

Do I need a Will? Everyone over 18 years of age most definitely needs a Will.  We also recommend that Wills are reviewed when your circumstances change and, in any event, at no greater intervals than 5 years.  When you make a Will with us we will contact you automatically at the expiry of 5 years to enquire if you need to modify any aspect of the document.

What happens if I die without a Will? Your property will be distributed as required by the Administration Act 1969.  A surviving spouse, civil union partner or de-facto partner, children and immediate family usually inherit your money, property, and possessions in set proportions, which may not be what you would have wished and may even cause hardship.  We can assist with the administration of your estate even if you have not made a Will, but it can take longer and cost more than if you had put a Will in place.

How can I prepare? While our online will builder is super quick, it would definitely help to spend some time making a list of your assets and thinking about who you would like to leave them with. It can also be a good idea to think about your funeral arrangements or any other special wishes you may have.

How long will this take? About as long as it takes you to drink a cuppa or sit through an ad break on TV. Generally, the online will builder takes between 5 and 20 minutes.
