We are a busy general practice law firm in Ashburton, South Island, New Zealand specialising in rural and commercial property transactions, residential conveyancing, company, estate, family and immigration law..
The firm was founded in 1983 when Alister commenced as a sole practitioner under the name of Argyle & Co. In 1992 Alister was joined in practice by David Welsh and they became partners in 1994. The firm, at the same time  incorporated the old established practice known as Robinson, Robinson & Gregg. Alister and David were joined by the late Paul Finnigan in 2000 who became a partner of the firm in 2002. The firm also employs a number of experienced legal executives and support staff.
We are able to provide a full range of legal services through our close affiliations with Wynn Williams & Co., a prominent Christchurch firm.
Many of our clients do not reside in Ashburton but, in this age of instant communication, prefer to continue to deal with us for our friendly and approachable professional manner. We often have one of our partners or solicitors in Christchurch so that clients can have face to face discussions whenever they wish.
Argyle Welsh Finnigan is the only Ashburton member of New Zealand Law Limited, a grouping of 50 legal firms in major centres throughout the country.
